US Bankcard Services, Inc. (USBSI) Accomplished the Donation Campaign for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research

City of Industry, CA (PRWEB) May 17, 2011

Rather than passively donating a sum to the PBTF, USBSI reached out to involve the public by pledging to donate $ 1 for every person who added themselves as a fan on USBSIs Facebook Page between February 1 and April 30, 2011. The donation campaign attracted 4,485 fans who liked and shared this noble cause. Stories of children with brain tumors and their families posted on USBSI page also encouraged and inspired many. TakeCharge.com, a social action network site, picked up the story and posted the campaign on its website enabling more people to participate.

The PBTF has been working since 1991 to help children afflicted with brain tumors. The foundation is working hard to eradicate the deadliest form of childhood cancer. The PBTF is the worlds largest source of funding for pediatric brain tumor research. It also offers support to patients and their families with educational literature and college scholarships.

Chris Chang, president of USBSI, explained the companys compassion behind the donation campaign. Just as important as any monetary contribution we make is to increase the awareness, even if by just a few people that is brought to the cause. Facebook is our means of accomplishing both goals this year. We hope more voices will lead more people to learn more about the PBTFs great work and extend their helping hands.

USBSIs support is much appreciated, said Dianne Traynor, PBTF president and chairman of the board. This unique fundraiser not only generated dollars that will support valuable research, but also raised public awareness about brain tumors and their impact on children and families, Traynor said. We thank US Bankcard Services, Inc. and all those who joined this effort to help the kids.

Guideevents.com, an Arch Inc. Website, Shows the Way to a Galaxy of Events

Chula Vista, CA (PRWEB) October 5, 2006

While the real estate market is rapidly cooling, it's still possible to stake a claim on the internet for virtual spaces that are both much cheaper and potentially more profitable. Last week, Arch Inc. debuted with http://www.guideevents.com , a comprehensive event guide displaying local events in all 50 states. The free, community site has unique features like robust searching, customized event categories and service upgrades available at a nominal fee, the site is especially unique because it was purchased for a dollar in an online auction on eBay.

The domain name alone is worth 100 times what we paid, said Mark Archer, founder and president of the San Diego-based company. Besides the acquisition costs, Im especially proud of this site because of the features. I mean anytime I use Yahoo or Google to look for cool shows or things to do in San Diego, Im flooded with static sites, primarily controlled by vendors, cities or municipalities. Guide Events, much like Craigslist -- the San Francisco online classified giant http://www.craigslist.com -- gives the power back to the people. Users can post details about their public events for free, sharing up-to-date information on real-world, dynamic events.

Users simply click to submit, accessing a submission screen. Simply enter the title of the event and a short description, choose from a long list of categories, from book clubs and balls to triathlons and polo. Basic listings are free. Enhanced listings, outfitted with bold or highlighted characters, or featured listings are available for up to $ 2.50 each.

Users can browse newest, most popular or featured events shown on the left of the home page or they can search by category or by location.

When asked if Guide Events plans to go head-to-head with craigslist.com, Archer quips, Look, the universe is abundant. Were not saying that were going to steal anything from Craig Newmark. I think Craig and his community have morphed into something were not. Our niche is events. Craigs niche is classifieds. I think we can coexist quite successfully.

The recent sale of the giant social networking site, MySpace, for $ 580 million to News Corp., many investment firms are looking online for the next big thing. Who knows what the future holds, however, buying almost anything for a dollar seems like a good deal to many people.

Global Mammography Equipment Market to Reach US$1.0 Billion by 2017, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, California (PRWEB) November 11, 2011

Follow us on LinkedIn Worldwide, awareness about breast cancer is rising, with more women coming forward for their yearly mammograms after the age of 40 years or earlier if required, resulting in increased usage of mammography for the detection of breast cancer. Rising significance of systematic early detection of breast cancer across the world, particularly in developed countries, is a major driving force for increased adoption of mammography procedures. Incidence of breast cancer varies geographically with developed countries such as the US and Western Europe recording high incidence rate, in comparison to developing countries of Africa, South America, and Asia Pacific. Amongst the two types of mammography equipment, Analog and digital, the latter ranks as the fastest growing spurred mainly by enormous technical capabilities and significant revenue potential.

Digital mammography is leading to the development of newer applications in breast screening, including contrast enhanced mammography, digital tomosynthesis, and fusion techniques combining other imaging methodologies such as MRI and ultrasound. On the other hand, the market for analog mammography equipment is set to witness decline due to the rapid adoption of digital technology. Alternative technologies including Breast Ultrasound, Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Molecular Breast Imaging (MBI), and Nuclear Breast Imaging are strong contenders for mammography. The global market is characterized by high levels of concentration, with few large players including GE, Hologic and Siemens, controlling a lions share of the market mainly because of their ability to pump-in huge investments into the capital intensive industry. Of late, the market has been witnessing participants taking the route of strategic acquisitions and alliances, strengthening R&D activities, and exploring newer markets to reinforce their network for more effective diagnosis as well as treatment of breast cancer.

Despite restrictions posed by the current economic climate, which is leading to a decline in health expenditure, the global mammography equipment market is predicted to grow on a continuous basis encouraged mainly by increasing implementations of breast cancer screening programs in emerging markets. Developing countries offer huge potential for growth as the current markets are relatively small. Usage of less costly alternatives such as infrared imaging and physical tests is rampant in these markets because procurement of mammography equipment is a costly affair. However, recent strides in information technology and its application and increasing emphasis on womens health are expected to fuel demand for mammography systems in the developing world.

The US commands the leading position as the largest regional market, garnering a significant share in the worldwide mammography equipment market, as stated by the new market research report on Mammography Equipment. The Asian market for mammography displays immense potential for future growth. The market in Asia is forecast to race ahead of other world regions with the fastest CAGR of 9.4% over the analysis period. By product segment, digital mammography equipment accounts for a significant chunk of the global mammography equipment market.

Major players in the market include GE Healthcare, Hologic, Inc., Metaltronica SRL, Planmed Oy, Sectra AB, Siemens Healthcare and Toshiba Medical Systems Corp.

The research report titled Mammography Equipment: A Global Strategic Business Report announced by Global Industry Analysts Inc., provides a comprehensive review of the industry and product overview, major market trends and issues, overview of complementary cancer diagnostic technologies in general and breast cancer in particular, product introductions, recent industry activity, and profiles of market players worldwide. Analytics are presented in both and volume (units) and value (US$ ) for major geographic markets such as United States, Canada, Japan, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Rest of World. Major product segments analyzed include Analog Mammography Equipment, and Digital Mammography Equipment (FFDM and Digital Diagnostic). Global Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems Market to Reach US$14 Billion by 2017, According to a New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, California (PRWEB) November 11, 2011

Follow us on LinkedIn - Technologies that accentuate the conservation, cleaning up, and generation of reliable electricity would sustain the future of modern digital economies. Demand for power across the globe is growing at a robust pace annually, riding on thriving economies. The insatiable demand for clean and reliable power supply is growing with each passing day and positions itself as a market to tap for the UPS industry. More than half of the electricity demand is accounted by the information technology market, making it a force to reckon with. In the US alone, about 8% of the electricity is consumed by the use of Internet, ranking it higher than the steel and chemical industries. The global consumption of electrical power is projected to leap to 20 trillion kilowatt-hours by 2015. Power problems such as outages, brownouts, and blackouts therefore result in colossal loss to an economy. Power management technologies are portended to rule high in the coming years. There exists huge opportunity for manufacturers who specialize in meeting the evolving demands in the electricity market. The old line of utility management sufficiently stands to lose away their hold in face of newer technologies.

The financial crisis led world economic recession during the period 2007-2009, not surprisingly left the global UPS market hurting. The level of impact wielded by the recession can be thrown into sharp relief by the fact that market distortions, such as, fall in the business confidence index, bleeding corporate balance sheets, enterprise skepticism over infrastructure investments, tight liquidity/financial constraints, lack of credit availability, high borrowing rates and capital shortages to fund new investments in telecommunications, IT infrastructure, plants and equipment, together resulted in hurting erosion in market value in the year 2009. Corporate clamp down on IT budgets, for instance, resulted in declines in new purchases of computing and technology products and delays in data center expansions, which in turn exerted pressure on UPS systems, which are used to provide instantaneous protection to electronic devices/equipments/products against abrupt power failures and interruptions and voltage fluctuations i.e. voltage sags, spikes and surge. Computer and technology products for home users additionally was severely impacted as a result of falling incomes, reducing household wealth, lower discretionary spends, rising unemployment, and crumbling consumer confidence, thus impacting sales of UPS systems in the consumer market.

Downturn in the semiconductor industry resulted in decline in UPS demand from the semiconductor wafer fabrication sector, wherein wafer fab plants are the largest end-users. Diminished manufacturing and commercial activity and the resulting declines in manufacturing output and industrial production reduced demand for electrical machinery, in the process weakening demand for industrial UPS systems. With the recession turning most end-use customers price sensitive, volatility in raw material prices forced manufacturers to absorb increases in production costs thus thinning profit margins further.

A part of the power quality industry, UPS systems although flayed by the recent recession, witnessed smart recovery in the year 2010, largely as a result of the growing ubiquity of power electronic devices and the continued steady resurgence in networking, telecommunication functions and continuous data and network services. Growing population, introduction of power grids and rise in number of electrification projects, resurgence in manufacturing activities, have all swung back to action spurring the recovery in demand for industrial UPS systems. Also, with the increasing adoption of a digitally-based lifestyle by majority of consumers, computing and storage requirements will continue to surge creating demand for reliable power management tools. The improving economy will result in the establishment of new datacenters thus wielding a positive impact on orders from the datacenters, which are the key revenue generators for the market.

Going forwards, the market will be primarily driven by growing enterprise adoption of virtualization as a technology for enhancing data center operations, as a strategy for complying with green IT agenda. As virtualization causes densities to surge and existing power protection solutions may not necessarily handle the new set-up, it offers a good proposition for resellers selling UPS. Growing complexity of ICT infrastructures and widespread deployment of high density computing infrastructures, which have reduced the tolerance of business processes and systems to power outages also serve as a business case for increased adoption of UPS systems in the upcoming years. With the potential risk of power failures being IT system breakdown, loss of critical data, inability to provide customer services and business losses, among others, demand for sophisticated power management solutions will continue to remain strong thus benefiting the UPS systems market.

As stated by the new market research report on Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems, Asia-Pacific represents the fastest growing regional market for UPS systems with revenue from the region waxing at a CAGR of about 15.8% over the analysis period. Continuous investments in industry and infrastructure by governments in the region are particularly driving robust growth in the Asia-Pacific market. Less than 5 KVA UPS Systems represents the largest product segment.

Major players in the marketplace include Active Power Inc., Eaton Corporation, Schneider Electric, Piller Power Systems, Riello UPS Ltd., Tripp Lite, among others.

The research report titled Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems: A Global Strategic Business Report announced by Global Industry Analysts Inc., provides a comprehensive review of current market trends, key growth drivers, recent industry activity, and profiles major companies worldwide. The report provides market estimates and projections for routers across all major geographic markets including US, Canada, Japan, Europe, Asia-Pacific Latin America, and Rest of World. The report analyses the market by product segments Above 500 KVA; 200.1 to 500 KVA; 100.1 to 200 KVA; 50.1 to 100 KVA; 20.1 to 50 KVA; 5.1 to 20 KVA; and Less than 5 KVA.
